{"id":2684,"date":"2018-10-02T15:48:39","date_gmt":"2018-10-02T15:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.taubman.org.uk\/family\/wp\/?p=2684"},"modified":"2018-10-30T11:49:47","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T11:49:47","slug":"highlighting-ancestors-in-family-historian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taubman.org.uk\/family\/wp\/2018\/10\/02\/highlighting-ancestors-in-family-historian\/","title":{"rendered":"Highlighting Ancestors in Family Historian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When working in Family Historian I often work using a diagram so I can easily see the branch I am working on.\u00a0 As my tree is quite large I normally have the diagram root set to the Ancestor I am working on so the standard ancestor colouring options which are based on the diagrams root do not help.<\/p>\n<p>However it is pretty easy to add an expression on the diagram options to highlight them on what ever diagram you are using.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;magic&#8221; code is<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>=IsAncestorOf(%INDI%,Record(1,&#8221;I&#8221;))<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You simply need to replace the number 1 with your record id if it&#8217;s not 1.<\/p>\n<p>Then with your diagram displayed go to the Diagram&gt;Options and select the Boxes tab and click &#8220;Add Condition&#8221; and select &#8220;Expression&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.taubman.org.uk\/family\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-10-02_164022.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2685\" src=\"http:\/\/www.taubman.org.uk\/family\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-10-02_164022.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"603\" height=\"508\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.taubman.org.uk\/family\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-10-02_164022.jpg 603w, https:\/\/www.taubman.org.uk\/family\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-10-02_164022-300x253.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 603px) 100vw, 603px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and paste in the &#8220;magic&#8221;
