- Thank you for your email. I've been researching my Pitcher family for
nearly 25 years and have gathered/gleaned quite a bit of information.
I hope the following is of interest:
I have some details for you on Joseph and his wife Charlotte.
Charlotte was previously married to GREEN and they had a son Henry born
1865.
Joseph and Charlotte were living in a cottage in Melbury Osmond in 1881
with wife, (her son from former marriage) and their six children.
Joseph was born 11 Oct 1846 in Dorset, son of Joseph Pitcher and Jane
Childs. The father, Joseph, was a brother of Aaron Pitcher, my first
Pitcher to arrive in Australia in 1849. More details about Aaron and

I have also transcribed the 1800 Census for Melbury Osmond. I am at
present compiling a history of the families of Melbury Osmond. Each of
the families in the 1800 census intermarried and one day I expect to
have small biographies of each person. Would you like to contribute a
bit on your family. No pressure to, just only if you are interested.
Looking forward to hearing from you. I only turn my home computer on
about once a week as I live on the computer at work. So hold on for
